From one rescue dog to another

The story behind Richie's Collagen, and the four rescue dogs who shaped our family.

Richie’s Collagen is named after one dog, but it exists because of four.

Richie

A Dalmatian with too much energy and nowhere to put it. Passed over more than once before he came home. He spent fourteen years under the desk, at the front door, in the middle of everything. He was the reason we learned what a rescue dog gives back.

The ones who came after

When Richie left, the house was too quiet. Not long after, another rescue arrived — older, slower, with a set of habits nobody could explain. Then another. Each one arrived with their own history and settled into the same routine: bowl, walk, sofa, sleep, repeat.

They didn’t replace him. They continued him.

His legacy continues through his furry friends — and through everything we’re building in his name.

Why a product, and not just a donation

We could have given to a rescue once and left it there. But one-off gestures fade. A product that gives every single month — because people keep buying tins for dogs they love — keeps giving without needing anything from us but honesty.

That’s the mechanism: your dog gets a daily boost, and a dog still waiting gets a better chance. Same tin.

What we owe the dogs still waiting

Not pity. Not a sad story with a logo on it. Practical money, plainly accounted for, going to the unglamorous work: kennelling, vet bills, foster support, and the slow business of rehoming the dogs who get overlooked.

They deserve the very best life

That line from our launch film isn’t a slogan. It’s the whole brief. Richie got his chance — fourteen years of it. Now it’s their turn.
